Dr. Robert Winfield wears go-blue shoes

Dr. Robert Winfield passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016. 

He was a long-time leader at UHS, joining as a staff physician in 1981 and serving the UHS executive director for 17 years, from 1999 until his death.

In addition, he served as the U-M Chief Health Officer, the first individual to act in this capacity. He was the medical director for MHealthy and he championed Smoke-Free campus, among many other accomplishments. 

Staff at UHS remember him as a compassionate and wise leader, and he is missed.
