What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?  ADHD is a condition with characteristics of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

Symptoms appear early in life, and different symptoms may appear in different settings. Individuals may show a wide variety of behaviors, but professionals recognize three subtypes:

• Predominantly hyperactive-impulse type
• Predominantly inattentive type
• Combined type

Diagnosis Individuals must receive a thorough examination and appropriate diagnosis by a well-qualified professional.

How can I get a prescription for ADHD medications at UHS?

To obtain a prescription at UHS, you must visit a UHS physician and bring both of the following to the first visit:

1. Documentation of diagnostic neuropsychological testing for ADHD
2. Documentation of current management plans for ADHD

How can I get testing and/or documentation for ADHD on campus?
