University of Michigan
UM Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program (UMAODPP)
The University recognizes that the use of alcohol
and other drugs can significantly interfere with fulfilling
the mission of the University and pose a serious threat
to the health and well-being of the members of this
community.
Current prevention efforts are coordinated by UMAODPP, which is a comprehensive
and student-centered program. Staff use evidence-based strategic interventions, collaboration, innovation
and the incorporation of the wellness dimensions to reduce the harmful consequences of alcohol and other
drug use.
The goal of current prevention efforts is to change the campus culture by
intervening in the environmental factors that explicitly or implicitly promote
and/or encourage use and misuse.
