Services:

  • X-ray: routine x-ray procedures (spine, chest, abdomen, extremities, etc.) are done on a walk-in basis. Kidney, stomach, small bowel, colon exams are scheduled in the afternoon when the radiologist is at UHS.
  • Ultrasound procedures (no walk-ins; scheduled in the afternoons) include abdominal, gynecology, thyroid, scrotal and extremity exams that evaluate tendons, muscles, masses and foreign bodies.
  • EKG (electrocardiogram) procedures
  • No CT scans, MRIs or nuclear medicine procedures (if you require one of these procedures, you will be referred elsewhere; fees will apply).

Referral is required:

  • Referral (written consultation request) from a UHS clinician or a UM Athletic Department physician is required.
  • Referrals from non-UHS clinicians need to be cosigned by a UHS clinician and may require an appointment.

Fees:

  • Currently enrolled students: no fees.
  • Other eligible patients: Fee-for-service or use billable health insurance. Contact your insurance company if you have questions.

How to request your Radiology records:

  • Call ahead (734-764-8302) to minimize wait time.
  • Tell us what records you need and the name and address of your outside clinician.
  • Radiology staff determine whether original films or copies will be provided.
  • Original films should be returned within 30 days. Film copies do not need to be returned.
  • If you need a radiologist's report, Radiology can provide an unsigned, preliminary copy of the radiologist's report. For signed final reports, contact Health Information Management Services.
  • No fees for Radiology records.
