Referral is required Physical Therapy
is available only with a referral (written consultation request)
from either a UHS clinician or a Michigan physician, physician's
assistant, dentist or podiatrist. Bring a signed referral
to your first visit.
Appointment scheduling:
After you get a referral, call 734-764-8349 to schedule your first appointment.
After your first appointment, the therapist will recommend and discuss with you the number and frequency of visits,
then you can schedule with the secretary.
Eligibility and Fees:
Currently enrolled UM students (that is, students
who are currently taking regular classes on the Ann Arbor campus)
pay no fees for Physical Therapy visits, however there are fees
for equipment such as braces, splints, orthotics and supports.
Non-enrolled UM students (within one year of last enrollment) are eligible to visit Physical Therapy by
purchasing the UHS Prepaid
Plan, which covers many UHS services.
Faculty and staff who have Premier Care and a primary physician at UHS may be eligible for
physical therapy services and fees may apply. For clarification, call UHS Managed Care/Student Insurance Office at
734-764-5182 or toll-free at 866-368-0002.
